Dear international colleagues from National lnstitutes of Statistics,
it is with great pleasure that we welcome you all to the 25° EVS in Rome, Italy, on next 13 15 June 2014.

I am particularly proud that the twenty-fifth edition of this tournament, an important anniversary, will take place in Italy and I am looking forward to hosting the several statisticians who will participate in this European Volleyball tournament. Our wish is to see a wide representation from all the different regions of Europe.

We trust that this is an additional occasion to show the relevance to spend time together, even for leisure activities, to share and compare, also in a relaxed and festive atmosphere, our common interests for science and research and to exchange views on the respective successes and difficulties that we all face while working in the field of statistics.

I also want to thank the Italian Volleyball Federation for the support provided for the organization of this edition of the volleyball tournament.
Rome is not only the Italian capital, but also an historical jewel of our old continent that everybody in the world knows and aims to visit sooner or later. I am confident that all the participants will take advantage and appreciate this opportunity.

Let me therefore wish you an enjoyable stay in Rome and thank you very much for your presence here and participation in the EVS.
